The Challenge of JHWH

A Fictional answer to Alien Abduction, UFOs, Government cover-ups and the Roswell incident

Author alert

The Challenge of JHWH was published in November of 2007 and since that time I have made every effort to promote its sale and distribution.  Unfortunately, at every turn, I have run into a publisher (PublishAmerica) who will not assist me in efforts that I have requested.

I have contacted the corporate offices of three major booksellers (Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million and Borders), and each of these have responded in the same fashion.  The items at issue are the lack of returnability of books published by PublishAmerica from the booksellers and the noncompetitiveness of books from PublishAmerica because of pricing.

Even though PA (PublishAmerica) tells new authors that their books are returnable; the major booksellers are only given a 5% discount with returnability by PA's retailer - Ingram.  This makes the books unacceptable to the major booksellers - that discount barely covers handling.  There is no profit for the bookseller.

The second item of contention is competitiveness of PA books versus those of traditional publishers (which PA advertises itself to be).  When I saw the initial pricing of The Challenge of JHWH ($24.95) I immediately requested a repricing to a more  competitive level. It was rejected.  I then began my efforts at promotion which has met a brick wall in all but a couple of my local bookstores, but even then I had to purchase the books myself from the wholesaler to allow them to stock the book.  During this effort PA raised the price to $27.95 for a paperback that has to compete with books of the same genre and similar content by known authors which sell at prices from  $7.00 t0 $18.00.

I intensified my efforts to correct the pricing and returnability problems with the "Author Support" department of PublishAmerica, and I attempted several times to contact the Executive Director, Ms Prather, and Mr. Clopper the company founder.   One of their last communications (after several months of trying and requesting support) contained the following  response:

"Dear Symm McCord:

Your letter did not reach the intended recipient, and it will not be directed elsewhere within the company.

Issues such as yours are handled by our author support team only. As you have been told, our decision remains firm, and we will not reply to further repetitions of the same question.

Have a nice day,
PublishAmerica support
support@publishamerica.com"

I am unable to accomplish promotion and distribution with this lack of support from the publisher.  I have a limited supply of The Challenge of JHWH from my original purchase and I will make them available at the best price possible based on what PA charged me.  The cost is $16.50 which includes shipping and handling.

Send an email with your postal address to

TheChallengeOfJHWH@hotmail.com to get on the list and if books are still available I will notify you to send a personal check to my address after which I will mail you the book.

Thank you for taking the time to read this alert and if you are an author, not yet published, please pay attention to what I have written above.  It is my opinion based on my experiences and with the experiences of several other PA authors with whom I have been in communication.

In 2012, after spending his entire professional career protecting a sixty-five-year-old secret, Zach Donovan finds his life’s work is being threatened by the prying efforts of a female journalist, Jean Irwin, who has entered his life and his work.  In his frustration he remembers the story told to him by his grandfather, Bill Donovan, who was also a member of Aquarius, the top secret group assigned to guard the mystery of "The Challenge".  The 38,000 year old story is of Jhowah, the respected scientist from Zeta-1 Reticuli, who changes the universe with his challenge.  Bill's account explains the reasons behind the presence of UFOs, alien abductions and a well controlled government cover-up.

How can Zach stop her prying?  This question becomes moot and his anxieties rise when his superior informs him that the parent organization of Aquarius, Majic-12, plans to hire her and he is to be assigned to familiarize her with the inner workings of all that he has tried to conceal for so many years.  He is given the duty of revealing to her that mystery.  She is to become their historian and will be present to document the most important event in modern times, which is to take place in December of 2012 on the island of North Bimini.

At the climax, the two stories merge into a revelation of galactic proportions.
